Hunt Test Handling Services

After your AKC registered pup has finished one of our duck dog programs, we will extend the offer to let us run your dog in an AKC Hunt Test, where after recieving 4 passes; they can title, receive a ribbon per pass, and a certficate of accomplishment awarded by the AKC. 

Puppy Exposure

Pups that come from us at Terranova Retrievers begin live pigeon exposure starting at 5 weeks of age. Weather permitting they will also have opportunity's to experience swimming. We expose them to regular household life including children, vaccuming, television, etc. Pups will also receive their first vaccinations and go through a structual exam. A large portion of our life and time are dedicated to our puppies and making sure that they have the best start.

Puppy Program/Raising 

We only offer puppy raising a couple times a year. This is effective especially if you don't have the time or resources needed that goes into raising a puppy that is intended for guided hunts, hunt test careers, etc. The Program is designed to build the foundation and amp up drive. If you want for your dog to love retrieving to the point of it being the equivalent of your dog's career, then you must expose that pup at a young age to nearly all of the elements that go into retrieving and the sport in general. Both live and dead bird exposure is essential to any retrievers first few months. It is easier to build a pup up on their instincts and raise them loving to retrieve, knowing no different, than to have to teach them what you intend for them to do once they already have a mature mindset.
